KEEPING UP WITH YOUR ACTIVE LIFE

Powering up to get the most out of your active life is all about fuelling up before and after – with a natural snack packed with protein, fibre and greens.

FOOD IS FUEL

Food is delicious, but it’s also fuel for your body. With that in mind, you’ll want to make sure that you get real and wholesome foods packed with the right nutrients – even when you have a snack.

MAINTAIN ENERGY LEVELS ALL DAY

Sometimes life just asks you to deliver a little bit extra. When going to the gym to exercise. When bringing the kids home from school. On your bike. In the rain. Or when drawing on all your strength to set up that client meeting in the big conference room. Keep your energy level balanced throughout the day with a wholesome diet and an occasional snack in-between meals.

GET ENERGY BY BEING ACTIVE

Boosting your energy isn’t just down to eating well. Regular physical activity like cycling, walking, or doing sports of moderate intensity can have significant benefits for your health and help keep your energy in balance.

And remember that any bodily movement counts as physical activity, even playing with your kids, doing chores around the house or going for a walk can improve your health.

POWER UP WHEN YOU NEED TO PERFORM

An active life requires energy so make sure to stay fuelled all day with a tasty combination of protein, fibre and greens.

PRIORITISE PROTEIN AND FIBRE

A healthy in-between meal could include fibre-rich whole grain, some low-fat dairy as a natural source of protein and calcium, and fruit or vegetables as part of your 5 a day.

STAY FOCUSED AND KEEP ACTIVE

How long can you go without eating before feeling those hunger pangs? 3, 4 or 5 hours? If the wait between your main meals is more than 5 hours, you could consider having a wholesome snack to keep your energy level balanced. Especially if you need to power up for a trip to the gym, picking up your kids from school or strenuous grocery shopping.

KEEP ON MOVING

Regular physical activity is proven to have significant benefits for your health. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), you should be active every day in order to benefit both your physical and mental health.

Long days at work might make it difficult to maintain an active lifestyle but remember that everything counts. Take the stairs instead of the elevator or escalator, hop on your bicycle instead of taking the car and make sure to walk as much as possible every day. You’ll probably be surprised to see how little you walk some days. Use an app or a pedometer to count your steps and see if you hit the recommended 10,000 steps a day!
