We're working towards converting our Logistics setup to run on renewable fuels. By 2030, we want our entire truck fleet in Europe to run on renewable fuels. In Sweden, we've already reached that goal.
When you see a truck in Sweden with Arla’s logo on it, you can be sure it’s running on fossil-free fuel. In 2018, we managed to convert our entire Swedish truck fleet to one that runs only on renewable fuels like electricity, biogas and biodiesel. Our aim is that the rest of our European Logistics setups will have followed Sweden by 2030.
Transport is naturally one of Arla’s major focus areas when it comes to reducing greenhouse gas emissions. That’s why we’re also optimising logistic routes, educating drivers in eco-driving and investing in larger milk collection tankers to reduce the amount of fuel per tonne of milk transported.
By the end of 2022, we had reduced our emissions in Scope 1 and 2, which also includes our production sites, by 29%. Our aim is to reach a 63% by 2030.
